Sunday Night Family BBQ

Sunday Night Family BBQ

Hosted by u16 GIRLS.

As a proud, family-oriented club, Research Junior Football Club hosts a free Sunday Night Family BBQ throughout the season — a simple but important way for our community to come together after game day.

It’s a chance to unwind, connect with other families, hear updates from around the club, and celebrate the weekend that was. Each week we also recognise our Clubperson of the Week, proudly supported by Machan Indian Restaurant, with the winner receiving a complimentary meal as a thank you for their contribution.

It’s relaxed, it’s easy, and it’s one of the best parts of being part of the club.

Dinner kicks off from 6pm — we’d love to see you there.

My team is hosting - what’s involved?

The club provides all meat and bread, and each team takes turns hosting the night. When it’s your team’s week, each family is encouraged to contribute a salad, side or dessert - who’s bringing what usually gets organised through your team chat. Even if you can’t stay for the evening, you’re welcome to drop something off at the canteen during the day. When everyone brings a plate, there’s always plenty to go around.

Hosting is simple and shared across the team. Duties include firing up the BBQ from 5pm (dinner ready serving from 6pm), helping set up and serve dinner, coordinating desserts and packing down afterwards. There’s no need to close the actual clubrooms — a committee member will take care of that.
